Amal Babu joined Addiscombe this season and has put in a string of impressive bowling performances. He has also shown some great potential with the bat down the order.

Last weekend, due to an injury he could not bowl and played for the 4th XI solely as a batsman against Old Wimbledonians.

OW batted first and got 167 off their 40 overs with Sameer Imran 3-18 and Vinay Malhotra 2-35.

Amal opened ACC's innings. He got some good support from Vinay with 25 and he saw the chase home, batting for the entire innings and leading ACC 4s to another great win.

4s Captain Vinay Malhotra said:

"Amal knew before the start of the match, how important the win was for us! He batted really sensibly even though we lost 3 early wickets and even when we were behind the run- rate, Amal kept his cool. He punished the bad balls and respected the good ones.

Considering he had an injured foot, he did a marvellous job, batted from ball 1 to the 38th over and getting the team over the line. Well done Amal and thank you!"

And Amal responded to his Adder of the Week award:

"Many thanks to the skipper for letting me play as half a player as I was carrying an injury. It would only be fair to make up for it by carrying the bat towards a crucial win. Felt good to get some runs for the club."
