Final 3 games of the league season for our Saturday XIs

The weather
A bit dull and overcast this morning but at least for the moment it is dry!

The weather report for today gives light rain showers with gentle breezes, temperatures of
between 13 to 20 degrees and a 60% chance of some rain during match play time.

Last week
This week we do have some results to report. Not all to the good I’m afraid, but its been that kind of season so far.

The ones lost by 4 wickets to Cheam. Cameron Armstrong scored 40, James Ramsey 20 no and also got bowling figures of 13-3-48-4. Unfortunately we remain at the bottom of the division.

The twos achieved a winning draw against Merstham with plenty of batsmen achieving double figures: Ayoub Khan 38, Joe Bearman 31, Nikhil Malhotra 28
and Sadiq Monsoor 28. Nikhil also bowled 12-2-23-4. The twos are currently sixth in their division.

The threes lost to Banstead by 6 wickets, Yasir Tufail 55, Jon Kuhrt 39, Adam Stevens 5-0-13-2 and are currently seventh in their league.

The fours won by 3 wickets against Old Wimbledonians, Sameer Imran 8-2-18-3, Vinay Malhotra 25 and Amal Babu 82 no and being named Adder of the Week. Congratulations Amal. The fours are currently third in their league.

Our Sunday Academy XI lost to Purley. We had a much changed team and lost to quite a strong young side. Thanks to Craig Stevens, for stepping in and giving guidance to our younger players during the game. Also thanks to Lin Poulton for scoring for the team and for scoring two days in a row. I believe Lin is doing the same this weekend, many thanks again.

This week
This weekend’s matches has again seen availability stretched, with no fifth team fixture being run.

The first team face Old Ruts at Sandilands, 12 noon start. A top v bottom of the table clash.
The second team are away to Thames Ditton, 12 noon. This is the last week of the timed games and for the remaining two weeks we revert back to the straight 50 overs matches.

The third team are away to Epsom at 1pm and the fours host Chipstead at Addington 1743 at 1 pm.

On Sunday our Trust team have a bit of a local derby at Sandilands 1.30 pm against Trinity Mid Whits.
