2s and 3s perform well last week but forecast for cricket looks bleak today

The weather
Welcome to a very wet morning. And it doesn’t promise to get much better.

The BBC promises light moderate breezes with temperatures of 13 to 19 degrees and 32% chance of rain during match play time. Fingers crossed but I cannot see many games being played today.

Last week
Onto last weeks matches. The Ones lost by 6 wickets to Woking and Horsell. Dan Lineker scoring 41 and James Ramsey ending up with bowling figures of 11-2-31-4.

The twos had a draw with Old Emmanuel, with Sam Dennis 42, and Chris Hurrion 37. Chris also had bowling figures of 10-1-28-3. His combined performance with bat and ball earn him Adder of the Week. Well done Chris.

The match also brought allegations of match fixing from a member of another club put out on twitter. Actions by ourselves, our opponents and the league saw the person concerned receiving a 3 week ban for bringing the game into disrepute. Enough said!

The threes won by 37 runs. Jack South well 9-4-22-3 and Robbie Naraine 36 no and Sadiq Monsoor 46 no.

The fours had a rain-affected drawn game against Esher.

This week
Today’s games, if we are lucky, the ones at home to Streatham and Marlborough, twos away to Purley, threes away to Wimbledon and fours at 1743 against Beddington.

On Sunday the Development side play Spencer at Sandilands 1.30 pm.

On Monday we are hosting a Surrey v Hampshire Under 18s girls match. 11 am start.
Good luck to everyone playing this weekend.

Junior success
Good news from the Juniors section. Both our Under 13s and 14s have won their league and our under 11s are runners up in theirs. Well done to all players. coaches and managers!

News from club
The bar opens in the afternoon on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, subject to the weather.

We are also experiencing some low level vandalism in and around the club. Notices being torn down, disabled toilet door damaged, Ranmore gate lock damaged and path lights vandalised.

Please keep your eyes open for any suspicious actions going on that you might see and report it.

Hopefully see some cricket and yourselves up at the club.

Best wishes,
Roger
