Excellent all-round contribution in ultra-close 2s match last weekend

Our Adder of the Week is Chris Hurrion after his excellent all-round performance in the 2nd XI match last weekend against Old Emanuel CC at Sandilands.

With Old Emanuel batting first, Chris bowled 10 overs for just 28 runs and got 3 wickets. When Addiscombe came to chase, he scored a vital 37. Along with Matt Stratten's 40 and Sam Dennis' 42, this meant ACC got within a whisker of a win chasing 184 off just 33 overs. Needing 2 to win off the last ball, we managed a single to level the scores and end on a draw.

Scott Benham was the 2nd XI stand-in Captain as Anthony Starnes was called into the 1st XI. He said:

"It’s was great after about 7 weeks not playing, Buggz was back in the mix and was like he was never away. He got his token double-bounce wicket which was the worst cricketing moment I have ever seen (both the bowling and batting). But actually, he bowled superbly and then also played a massive innings to get us within touching distance of get the victory."

In response to his award, Chris said:

‘Would have been even better to get the win. Gutting to get so close, but a great team effort’
