Pee Wee’s Big Adventure

No Neville again this week and perhaps that will give our readers another clue to his true identity. Could it be one of our loyal supporters, Graham Jones perhaps or even his wife Elaine, David Potter or Richard Poulton who knows and let’s be truthful who cares.
Away to The Bank of England brilliant better pack my shovel , torch and dynamite. I check to team sheet and notice my mate Rupesh (three tonges) Amin has been left out to enjoy Pam’s teas back at Sandilands. Back in Pee Wee and looking pretty pleased about it after resurrecting his career in the 2’s last week at Cobham.
Skipper wins the toss and and inserts the opposition on the road they call a wicket. Chasing 250 me thinks with our bowling attack. Saleem takes the new ball well the old ball really as the first 2 balls go to the boundary, hang on that can’t be right a new ball that’s old.
The thing that has always cheesed me off is the umpires love to come into your changing room and grab you’re balls, why do that, then stuff them into their pockets without even producing a CRB Form. Well the Bank Skipper gave them a 3 year old duffer. Saleem complains and rightly so gets a new cherry, same result 13 off the first over, here we go I thought.
Jones and Saleem then tie the Bank in knots while I dig the tunnel and use my explosives. When I come back the score is 46 for 2 off 18 and Saleem has had enough I think. Jones still racing in and reduces them to 71 for 4 off 29 overs two wickets apiece job done get your nose bags on and graze in the outfield.
Enter Pee Wee looking fitter than ever and even more determined than usual, first ball smashed to the boundary, whoops here we go. 2 and a half hours later he is still bowling with figures of 4 for 56 off 17 uninterrupted overs, Sudesh assisting at the other end with 13 tight overs himself.
A very expensive tea was taken with ACC needing 156 to win, Game on.
Too cut a long story short the boys went about their task with German efficiency and reached the total in the 37 over. All batsman helped themselves to runs with Jason(three shandy’s) Moore top scoring with 40 and Ashley 30 and Sean 28 getting red inkers.
Today yet again proved our Captain right that being dropped and taken in the correct way can led to better performance, Well Done Pee Wee on your Big Adventure.
