ACC's Charity 6 a-side Tournament: Sunday 13th September

Date confirmed and details released of our big end-of-season club day

Addiscombe CC 6-a-side tournament will be held Sunday 13th September

  • All members to register on the app/website - last date to register to play is Tuesday 8th September
  • Players will be allocated into teams will be announced on the website before the weekend

THE BURTON-CARTER TROPHY
Teams will be competing for the Burton-Carter trophy which is named after two former members of Addiscombe CC, Ron Burton and Brian Carter, who both sadly died last year (click on their names to read more about them).

Both were great characters who did a great deal for the club and we are really pleased to have this Trophy named in their honour.

OUR CHARITY PARTNERS
All money raised from the event will be shared between these two great causes:

Croydon Health Services Charitable Fund support improvements in care, specialist equipment and investments in cutting-edge technology and facilities to deliver the very best healthcare for people in Croydon.

MENCAP improve the lives of people with a learning disability and their families and fight alongside them for a better future. We are raising funds for their local centre in Croydon

HOW WE ARE RAISING FUNDS:

  • Donation of £10.00 per player, Students/unwaged £5.00.
  • Prize Raffle and other challenges throughout the day to raise funds
  • Darren is also kindly running a BBQ on the day and profits from this will also be donated to the charities

SUMMARY OF TOURNAMENT RULES

  • All overs are bowled from the clubhouse end, max 5-step run up
  • 4 runs for a wide / no ball. No extra ball including in the last over
  • 5 over matches, all outfield players bowl
  • 20 minutes per innings, penalty runs if going over this.
  • 3 scoring zones which will be double runs if the ball goes through them. (8 or 12 runs)
  • Batsman retire at 20
  • 2 Prize Targets, if more than 1 person hits then all names into a hat and winner is drawn
  • Players will be seeded so that teams are fair
