The last regular Chatter of 2021

Welcome to the last regular Saturday Chatter of the 2021 season.

There will further Chatters informing you of things happening at the club during the close season, but not on a regular basis.

Last week
Results of the final games of the season brought the club two wins and two losses.

The ones lost to Sanderstead by 171 runs, with Baz Lineker again being the top scorer with 24 runs.

The twos lost to Chessington by 36 runs, Rochie 39 and Jono Fitzgerald 57,
earning him Adder of the Week. Congratulations Jono.

Our threes beat Worcester Park by 5 wickets. Yash Vora 37 and Jon Kuhrt 24
and 8-3-7-1.

The fours won against Trinity Mid Whits by 27 runs, Haris Sajjad 49, Vincente Solera-Deuchar 25, Alistair Wildsmith 5-0-17-3 and Raminder Chima 7-0-22-3.

End of season charity event
The mixed results did not prevent their being a good time at the end of season charity event raising funds for Mencap.

I think that the total raised was over £800. Thanks to Sue and Darren for putting on the curry along with Vinay, and the DJ with karaoke, and Rochie for organising the raffle and auction. I’m sure that there were others involved, apologies if I have missed you out.

Thanks to...
Thanks also to all those who have supported our teams during the season by being present at matches and scorers Lin Poulton and Ray Munn, umpires Gavin Mander and Steve Maguire.

Ground work
There are no further matches up at the club, and winter ground preparations will be starting soon. The nets will remain in use for a few more weeks for those that wish to exercise.

Today between 10-11.30am we need volunteers to help with closing down the cricket ground for winter. Please come along if you can.

The Tennis club are having some resurfacing done on their courts starting on 13th September which requires some heavy lorries moving equipment, so please be careful if you are up at the ground while this work is going on.

The bar will not be open today but will be open from 11 am tomorrow as Hockey have an event up at the club.

Best wishes, and keep safe.
Roger
