Five ACC teams out again today in glorious weather

The weather
Lovely sunny start which promises to continue with a high of 27 degrees and gentle breezes and little chance of rain.

So hopefully a day of good cricket for all our teams and good luck to our players.

This week
We have five teams out again this week with the ones away at Kingstonian (12 noon), the twos at Sandilands playing Old Wimbledonians (12 noon), threes away to Beddington (1 pm), fours at Addington 1743 against Merstham (1 pm) and our fives are at Old Whits (1 pm).

Tomorrow the Development side play Old Ruts at Sandilands (1.30 pm) and our successful junior sides U11s and U13s have games against Southern Rail away, and Spencer at Addington 1743, respectively.

Last week
During the week Addiscombe Mitres won in their Surrey Slam match against Wallington, and now go through to the next round of the Midweek Cup. Well done!

Last week’s Saturday games saw the first team achieve a losing draw against Old Whits, Lewis Noble scoring 33.

The second eleven won by 21 runs against Kingstonian, with Tom Smith 37, Alex Roberts 42, and Nikhil Malhotra taking a 5fer with 12.3-2-26-5, becoming Adder of the Week, making that accolade a hat-trick as well. Congratulations Nikhil.

The third team lost by 6 wickets to Merstham, the fourth team lost by 7 wickets to Old Ruts and the Fives lost to Banstead by 36 runs.

Other news
The bar will be open at the usual times today and tomorrow.

The police are still investigating the damage done to the lock at the Ranmore gate entrance at the lower end of the ground. A new lock will be installed very soon. Meanwhile the gate remains closed.

Last Thursday there was a theft in the car park of a catalytic converter from a tennis club member’s car so please be on the look out for any suspicious activity in the vicinity of the club and report it.

Our new LED scoreboard was in full operation last weekend and is working well.

Matches for our Cricket Week have been finalised, (26th to 30th July) and details are
published here.

Enjoy the weekend and the cricket.

Best wishes,
Roger
