A great ACC Cricket Week despite the weather challenges

The weather
The weather offers us light rain showers with gentle breezes, with a 49% chance of rain during match play time. Temperatures ranging from 13 to 20 degrees.

Last week
Last weeks results saw only two outright wins for the club.

The fours beating Streatham and Marlborough by 1 run. Vinay Malhotra scoring 30 and successfully bowling the final over with the oppo needing just 5 runs. Well done the skipper!

The fifth team beat Salford CC by 105 runs with Sameer Imran scoring 74. Our other elevens were not so fortunate in their results. The first team lost by 58 runs to Churt, with our highest scorer being Rochie with 28 runs and Baz Lineker taking 3 wickets.

The second team managed a losing draw against Ripley, Curtis Rose 44, Sam Dennis 38 and Vivek Patel 3 wickets. The threes lost their game against Streatham and Marlborough
Ayoub Khan scoring 55 and Connor McGrath 34.

Our Surrey Slam team Addiscombe Mitres also lost in their quarter final match to Streatham and Marlborough, with the team suffering a lot of last minute re- arrangements. Many thanks to Charlie Forden in getting the team so far and managing the team throughout the season.

Our Sunday Academy XI's (pictured above) game against Old Ruts on the Sunday was abandoned after one over due to a massive downpour leaving the ground flooded and no hope of further cricket.

This week
This weeks fixtures see the first team travel away to Woking and Horsell, the twos entertain Old Emmanuel at Sandilands. Both 12 noon starts. At 1743 the threes will be hosting Mitcham and the fours are away to Esher. Both 1 pm starts. The fifth team fixture away to Hampton Hill has been cancelled.

There is no Sunday afternoon fixture up at the club this week. Good luck to all our teams participating in matches today.

Cricket Week
Other news from club saw the return of our traditional cricket week after a years absence due to covid pandemic. The club managed to stage T20 matches every night except on the Wednesday where the U14s v 5th XI lost out to the weather.

The 3s narrowly beat the 4s on Monday, an Addiscombe XI beat a Ryan Godfrey XI on Tuesday and Fathers lost to the Sons on Thursday.

President's Day
On the Friday we had our traditional game against the Paralytics, it being our President’s
Day with and excellent lunch and tea provided provided by our President David Moore.

David unfortunately could not be present, so the day was hosted by myself and Jon Kuhrt, with Sue and Darren Turner and their bar staff providing an excellent days support
in running the bar and organisation of catering arrangements. Thank you very much to you all.

The match against the Paralytics was very much affected by the weather, with several stoppages for rain. The Paras batted first posting a score of 149 for 8 declared.
Addiscombe’s reply was 153 for 1 with Sean Crowie returning in magnificent form scoring 104 no from 58 balls, backed up Johnno Fitzgerald, 44 no.

Great result for Addiscombe, but many thanks to the Paralytics for their contribution to the day both on and off the field. Thanks also to Ray Munn who scored for us and and Steve Maguire who umpired.

Best wishes and hope to see you up at the club sometime today.
Roger
