Roger Hurrion, Chairman

Happy Christmas everyone!

I hope that you are all managing to keep safe and healthy in these continuing difficult times.

I thought that I would give you a final update of news for 2020.

The club obviously remains in lockdown and will remain so into the new year, and this also means that winter net sessions cannot be held due to covid regulations. Hopefully we shall be able to start earlier in the spring up at the club to compensate.

Next season
Fingers crossed for a return to normal cricket next season, and the Surrey Championship have issued the fixtures for next year, with matches starting on 5th May and finishing on 4th September.

The 2s and 4s start off with home games against Kingstonian and Old Ruts respectively and the 1s and 3s are away to Old Whits and Merstham for their matches. I am also trying to fix up some pre-season friendlies.

Ground updates
During the spring a new access path with lighting and boundary fencing will be installed making it safer for everyone using Sandilands. Hopefully the score board will also have a new LED numbers system as well.

A grounds survey and investigation has been done by the Surrey Grounds Team, who were quite complimentary about the facilities and we are waiting at present for the full written report.

Let’s hope that 2021 will bring us much better times and enjoyable cricket.

With best wishes from Lin and I for a healthy Christmas,

Roger Hurrion
ACC Chairman
