U15's beat Beddington in First Home Match

Welcoming Beddington CC to Sandilands for our first home match of the season, Addiscombe won the toss and decided to bowl first. Tidy fielding and great encouragement between the players ensured that we did not allow the opposition to get away from us and post a large total for us to chase. There was a wicket for Max Symonds and two for Cameron Leishmann with his wily spin! However, Nikhil Malhotra was the pcike of the bowlers with 3 wickets for 11 runs. In the end Beddington posted a total of 120 for Addiscombe to chase down.

At the start of our innings runs were hard to come by with Beddington bowling accurately and giving very little away. After 5 overs we had 5 runs and therefore it was clear some acceleration would be needed. After both openers fell Hamzah scored 15 off 26 balls which moved things forward. when he fell Tom Smith entered the attack and the runs started to flow. With Joseph Murphy the next batsman out Max Symonds scored a quick fire 18 off 13 balls and the momentum was increased. Nikhil Malhotra followed and with 28 off 11, matched by Tom Smith's 32 off 24 the target was reached in just under 20 overs.
