4s winning run comes to an end

Sutton won the toss and put Addiscombe into bat. The mighty Stephen Hasler and Jon Kuhrt opened and started well and looked good. Jon played two magnificent shots for fours in first over. Stephen looked as solid as ever with great defence. Jon was playing great and was on 19 when he was given LBW. Pete Murphy came after that and batted well with good defensive shots. Then Steve was bowled by Phil Diaper their accurate left-armer. It brought Adam Stevens out to bat and he looked positive. He and Pete were running great on pitch. Adam was playing good positive shots before has was also bowled Diaper - he was on fire.

Farooq came next, started well with good defence and a nice four. On other end Pete continued to look solid and play some good shots but the bowling was tight. Farooq played some great shots, hit some boundaries and then played a silly shot and was caught. Hasnain came in but he and Pete both got out quickly and Michael Jones followed soon after. Waseem came in but was given LBW on zero and looked unhappy with the decision. Jack Southwell and Tom Kuhrt were on crease. Tom played some good defensive shots but was caught which meant we were all out. As Alistair (due to a captain's admin error) was running late and was not at the ground yet, it meant that Addiscombe were 81 all out in 33.3 overs. Sutton had bowled very well but we did not do ourselves justice.

Addiscombe's Waseem and Jack Southwell opened the bowling attack. Waseem and Jack both started well but both openers from Sutton played really well, played good shots. Later Tom Kuhrt came to bowl but was not at his best and bowled just 2 overs. Alistair bowled well in the end and took the only wicket with Jack taking a very good diving catch at mid off. Their number 3 came in and finished the run chase. They had made it look easy and Sutton look a strong team.
