Reigate beat ACC U14s in the Cup

The pitch at Reigate was a bit tricky due to the rain that day but Danny took the positive choice to bat. ACC found it hard going against some accurate Reigate bowling but Sumith again looked good for 11 before being bowled. Sadly, he was the only one to reach double figures as we stuttered to just 70 for 8 off our 20. Srikar did well at the end with some flashing drives to be 8 not out at the end.

At least we had something to bowl at, remembering TMWs beating us earlier in the season with just 75 on the board. But Reigate's batsmen were very classy, rocking back to cut and pull even if the balls were a fraction short. Danny K and Aden bowled decently but our best bowler was Srikar. His leg-spin was economical and he managed to get our only wicket - dismissing a Surrey batsmen for 37. Reigate reached our total in just 11.4 overs and won by 9 wickets. We do have to field better as nothing is so disheartening for a bowler when fielders do not get down to do a long barrier or we don't get down to field it properly. It is an area where all of our players need to improve.

It was a tough match but there is no shame when we come up against such strong teams and we did OK. Srikar won the MoM award for his positive batting and excellent bowling.
