Match report by Raminder Cheema, Junior Cricket Manager
U13 played Sanderstead on Friday.
Weather was OK but it was quite windy. There were some questions about safety due to the wind, but we decided to go ahead. The wind was swaying the trees a lot but on the pitch we felt it was safe.
Addiscombe batted first with valuable knocks from Ayoub, Kaivin and Louis. We managed to put on a decent 127.
They had very good openers, playing really well with skills and technique well above their cricketing age. But our opening bowlers were spot-on and didn’t give away much. The first change bowlers were just as effective and the match was evenly poised. We got their top order batters with some nice catches and a stumping.
Towards the end they tried to push their run rate but they lost their wickets constantly, thereby loosing by 16 runs at the end. It was a very tight match and a fabulous win against a very good side.
