Alleyn edge out Addiscombe

After losing the toss, Aden Latif started with a typically tight opening spell. ACC debutant Ishan opened at the other end, bowling with good pace but sometimes pitching it too short. Alleyn's top 4 batsman were strong and they made a good start. Danny K replaced Ishan and bowled well - unlucky to have a catch dropped of his bowling. ACC fielded well - with Danny S, Sumit, Hamzah, and Nikhil all bowling decent spells. Best bowler was leg spinning Tom who got 3-10 off his 4 overs. Sadly, Nikhil's final over got hit for 16, including a six off the last ball of the innings.

WHen ACC batted, they lost opener Zack early. Nikhil and Sumit batted sensibly but the run rate required was rising all the time. NIkhil got 22 and then Jamie scored a typically busy and enterprising 20 but the loss of key wickets hurt us. Ghablib and Tom hit some good shots but we were always behind the required rate.

ACC should feel encouraged as we did well against a strong Alleyn team. Welcome to Ishan and Sumit on their debuts and we look forward to you joining the team.
