The U13's got their season underway with a good win at home against Old Whitgiftians. A win in a friendly against Streatham and Marlborough the week before had got the boys in a positive mood and this followed on with a worthy win against Old Whits. Winning the toss and choosing to field first it was clear that early training had paid dividends with a better performance in the field. they rarely let the score run away with them and took wickets at regular intervals, eventually restricting Old Whits to a total of 64. Taking the field to bat after a couple of early scares the opening partnership of tom Smith and Yash Vora and knuckled down producing innings of 28 and 32 respectively with Yash hitting the first 6 of the season. With Yash retiring on 32, Nikhil Malhotra came in to score one crucial run which won the game! A great start to the season without the loss of one wicket.
