Addiscombe beat Purley in the Cup

Addiscombe had a great result against Purley in the NEC Cup . Although the opening bowlers pitched too many short balls, Tom K came on with his leg spinners and bowled 4 tight overs and got 2 wickets, including a great stumping by Jamie. Nikhil and Danny K held two good catches and Ben, Sabih and Danny S bowled well at the end of the innings to restrict them to 85 for 5 off their 20 overs. Well done everyone on no drop catches and hardly any fielding mistakes.

After Tom K went early, Nikhil and Jamie then batted fantastically, putting on 57 in a 2nd wicket partnership. It was model batting - hitting the bad balls and working the singles very sensibly. Nikhil, with some brilliant pull shots almost trebled his previous highest score before getting out for a great 27. Jamie pulled, cut and drove off the back foot excellently and retired on 33 not out. Sabih and Ben then got the remaining runs nice and calmly with two overs to spare. A great result and into the next round of the Cup we go!
