Well, the final game of the season was suddenly upon us and given that we had lost to Tadworth at home a couple of weeks ago the U11's were determined not to make the same mistake again.
Losing the toss and being asked to bat first a very sensible batting display saw Addiscombe post a very competitive total of 289. Highlights were the first pairs total of 28 runs without the loss of a wicket including Nikhil Malhotra top scoring with a very encouraging 16 runs. Overall, only 4 wickets were lost which everybody was very happy with.
So onto fielding and yet again the rain came down for the second weekend on the trot. Completely undeterred, we probably bowled the best game of the summer, restricting Tadworth to 248, taking 5 wickets and most importantly, from the coaches perspective, only giving away 14 runs in wides and no balls.
So another end of season win meant the U11's finished third in the league; demonstrating how much we have improved in the last twelve months.
I'm sure the boys, like the coach, are already looking forward to next year!
