Great results and some brilliant performances from last week

The weather
As expected the weather has turned after the heat wave, woke up this morning to some mild rumblings of thunder in the distance and wet pavements.

The BBC predicts thundery showers with a gentle breeze, weather warnings issued. 22 to 38% chance of rain during match playtime and temperatures ranging from 15 to 23 degrees.

Last week
Last weeks matches were the best set of results for a long time with only one of our senior teams losing.

Unfortunately it was our first team losing to Kingstonian by 2 wickets. However there were some good batting and bowling performances: Alex Roberts 25, Cameron Armstrong 31, Lewis Noble 43 and Baz Lineker 13.1-4-42-3.

The second team beat Old Wimbledonians by 5 wickets. Craig Stevens 56, Adi Dhond 34, Scott Benham 14-5-36-3.

The threes followed up beating Beddington by 7 wickets, Ayoub Khan 65, Aaron Stace 42 no, Adam Stevens 22 no and Jon Kuhrt 9-5-13-3.

Not to be outdone the fours won by 8 wickets against Merstham. Krishna Bhogadi 23, Thiru Ramasamy 5.4-3-6-4.

To complete the Saturday scene the fifth team in their friendly against Old Whits won by 10 wickets, Michael Dean 6-0-32-4, Branavan Harihan 55 no and the first of our weekend centurions and joint Adder of the Week, Rajesh Bathula 151 no.

On the Sunday our Surrey Trust Development side won against Old Ruts by 7 wickets, producing our second centurion and joint Adder of the Week, Connor McGrath 104 no and Ayoub Khan 38.

This week
Turning to the up and coming fixtures for the weekend and week ahead, the ones are at home to Churt 12 noon at Sandilands, a bottom of the table clash for us and a must win game.

The twos are at Ripley at 12 noon. The threes face Streatham and Marlborough away 1pm start and likewise the fours opponents are Streatham and Marlborough at Addington 1743 1 pm start. The fifth team have a friendly away to Salford CC 1 pm start.

On Sunday the Development side have the reverse fixture against Old Ruts away 1.30 pm.

Monday sees the beginning of our Cricket Week with matches each evening and then with President's Day on Friday. See here for all details.

In addition on Monday there is the next round of the Surrey Slam Midweek Cup with the Mitres playing away to Streatham and Marlborough 5.45 pm start. There is no Sunday afternoon game at Sandilands tomorrow, but the U11s have a match there in the morning.

News from the Club
The bar will be open today from 2 pm but not tomorrow. During Cricket Week the bar will be offering pies to order, but they will have to be ordered by 5 pm on the day required, to be ready for consumption at least 2 hours later. Further details of this service will be circulated later.

Hope we get some cricket today.
